In this article, we provide an answer to the question Should I quit my job? and list some reasons you may quit and steps you can take to resign. You may have a desire to leave for many reasons, such as seeking higher pay or a job that better suits your interest. But I at least ended up not having it look like I was fired.Deciding whether to quit your job may feel like a complex and challenging process. I didn't get my job back (was just a side job anyway) as they were closing that location anyway. But because I spoke up he believed the other complaints as well. I saw the camera footage-" I said, "okay, but if you don't have audio, watch it again after what I just said & see if it doesn't look to you like it was an agreeable action & not 'leaving without permission.'" He did watch it again & got back to me & told me he fired that manager as he had other complaints that he wasn't sure about. He said "they told me you were leaving your shift early without permission." I said "WHAT? They asked me if I would like to go home because they weren't busy." He said "oh, that's not what I was told. I reached out to the owner to ask about it. Well, one week, he started sending me home really really early. This manager didn't like me, but never really expressed why. I worked a side job once at a small mexican restaurant (similar to Chipotle but not Chipotle) & they had cameras but no microphones. Some business owners don't know their management staff is shit until someone speaks up. If it's in person, I would pick a different location, like a coffee shop down the street or something. If you think you have information that he could use to help your coworkers and it won't make it worse for you, it might be worth going. They apparently also added mental health services to the benefits a year later, I don't know if it was related. Some structural changes, and more involvement for everyone. They also offered me a position in a different department if I wanted one, but I refused.Īpparently it did help, I spoke to some of my former co-workers later and they mentioned that their concerns were taken more seriously. I told them as much as I felt comfortable sharing since it was a weird time and my mental health was not great. I did talk to them virtually, they told me I could leave at any time but they just wanted to know the situation and why I felt like that was my only option instead of talking to them previously. Manager wanted to talk, then I got an email from HR saying he had been told not to contact me and that they would appreciate a half hour of my time if I was willing.
